Jeffreys Bay nestles like a jewel midway between the large Gamtoos and Kromme Rivers.
J'Bay, as the locals call it, is THE place for peace and the perfect wave. World renowned for the safe beaches and surfing, J'Bay is home to some of the biggest surfing competitions e.g. the Billabong Country Feeling and the Billabong Challenge and also home to some of the world's surfing legends.
Apart from being a world-famous surfing destination and possessing the amenities one would expect of a resort on the sandy shores of beautiful St Francis Bay, Jeffreys Bay offers a host of activities: the Shell Museum, beauty clinic, aqua spa, cinema, shopping, restaurants, shark tank, golf course, tennis, squash, beach horse riding, obstacle golf, supertube, water slide, windsurfing, deep sea angling, wave and dolphin watching and much more.
Explore the other resorts and villages nearby: Marina Martinique, St Francis Bay, Port St Francis and Cape St Francis with it's well-known lighthouse.
Make day trips to the Tsitsikamma Forest, Storms River, Plettenberg Bay or Knysna to the west, The Gamtoos River Route, Port Elizabeth and the Addo Elephant National Park to the east.
Take a drive or a tour through the magnificent Baviaanskloof Wilderness Area. This, with an overnight stay, makes an ideal two-day side trip. Please accept a friendly warning, however, that the Baviaanskloof is not suitable for cars. (For further information visit www.baviaans.co.za.)
Dolphins regularly surf the waves and Whales can be seen between
July and October.
During beach walks you can collect exquisite Seashells.
Sporting facilities include tennis, golf, bowls and squash at the country club, windsurfing on two lagoons and, naturally, fishing and ski-boating.
J'Bay is also the centre of South Africa's Tjokka (calamari) industry.
J'Bay has a thriving handcraft industry and the shops/factory shops offer brand name surfing gear, beachwear, leather products and pottery. It is the home base of the well known manufacturers of surfing gear such as Billabong.
For Nature and Hiking enthusiasts there are 4 reserves within easy range:
Addo Elephant Park
Seekoei Nature Reserve
Kabeljous Nature Reserve
Noorsekloof Nature Reserve.

Kayaking, horse-riding, pedaloe and canoeing, cinemas, restaurants,
